A micron is a unit of measurement used by the cleaning industry to describe particles that are extremely small. By themselves, microns are invisible to the naked eye. In fact, one micron is equal to 1/25,000th of an inch. To give you a better idea of how small a micron is, here are some comparisons: a grain of salt is about 60 microns, a human hair averages 70 microns, and a postage stamp is more than 25,000 microns long.
